Tobago Kays

Practical Sailing Courses with Bluewater-Sailing are not just all about learning, they are also about the beautiful anchorages and sailing destinations you will find yourself in during your weeks sailing. I have put together a quick fact sheet that lets you know where we could be taking you on your RYA course! Arrive in Grenada Island Arrive in Grenada and have a Rum Punch at the Dodgey Dock! Spend the evening anchored off Trueblue Bay, the Grand Anse or moored alongside Grenada Yacht Club. At any of our start up locations there are a host of excellent restaurants are located within a short walk of your yacht.


Known as the "Spice Island" Grenada has become famous for its fragrant spice trees, so if you have any free days stay at Trueblue Bay Resort and take an island tour and explore the waterfalls, mountain trails, spice plantations, chocolate and rum factories and coconut plantations.

Carriacou

Dominated by fishing, farming and seafaring, Carriacou is a beautiful island to explore by land or sea with plenty of anchorages for lunchtime and overnight stops with some of the best restaurants in the Grenadines.


Union Island

Chatham Bay on the western coast is a large protected anchorage where locals arrange beach barbeques in a fabulous setting underneath the palms.


Tobago Cays

Part of which was a film set for the Pirates of the Caribbean, Tobago Cays is considered the most scenic anchorage in the Grenadines and by some the whole Caribbean. This national marine park has crystal clear shallow water, an abundance of fish and flourishing corals, and is a great location for snorkeling. Local venders sell fresh fish and lobster which can be barbequed for you on request on the beach, otherwise bring your own provisions and cook on board. An ideal place to anchor, snorkel around the reefs and rewind for a couple of days.


Petit St Vincent and Petite Martinque

Both lovely overnight or lunchtime stops before either sailing back to Union or continuing to sail south towards Grenada.


Palm Island

With one of the most beautiful beaches in the Windward Islands, why not start the holiday slowly with a short 1nm hop to Palm Island!? Anchor off and take the dinghy ashore to one of the islands fantastic beach bars.


Mayreaux

(Roughly 1 hr sail from Canouan, Union and the Quays) Salt Whistle Bay and Sailine Bay are both shaded by palms and covered in white sand providing an excellent evening or lunchtime stopover, with the option of eating ashore. Both again provide excellent snorkeling.


Canouan

Canoan provides an ideal lunchtime stop anchoring in 8-10 metres of water, before sailing on towards Bequai. It hosts some excellent walking and great views.


Bequia

Admiralty Bay has a wonderful lively atmosphere with an excellent fruit and vegetable market. The blowing of a conch shell announced fresh fish on the dock. Laundry, Garbage, water, and ice are available on the quay. Take an island tour to the turtle sanctuary, go hiking or explore the local arts, crafts and museums on the island.


Mustique Island

(2 hrs from Bequia, 3 hrs from Canoan) This unique island is privately owned and become developed with holiday homes for the rich and famous. Moor in Brittania Bay and rent golf carts or bikes to explore the grounds of homes owned by amongst others, David Bowie, Mick Jagger and Raquel Welsh!

OPTION 1 Itinerary


Grenada, Carriacou, Tobago Cays, Canoan, Bequia, Grenada


Option 2 Itinerary


Grenada, Carriacou, Tobago Cays, Petit Martinique, Mayreaux, Grenada.


There is also the option for those who wish to join the boat in Carriacou on Day 1 of the Sailing Itinerary by catching the ferry or flying across, giving them the ability to explore Carriacou at leisure.
